Terror experts see the Horn of Africa as a region ripe for Islamic Radicalization. That's why the U.S. military is building up forces on the African continent. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, but maybe not.

A remarkable piece in the August Esquire magazine describes a military that has learned from the botch-fest in Iraq and believes it can fight terrorism without making an enemy of everyone they encounter.  Bono might even approve.
