One of the things reporters have to do on assignment, now and then, is hold things they don’t really want to hold. I’ve had to handle snakes, rat droppings, bio-hazardous medical waste, and vomiting babies in the past. But there was something about the THONG story that raised the hair on the back of my neck. Must be a guy thing. I was interviewing a 21 year old college kid who, as a prank, walked into various stores wearing a bright red thong. He was arrested for indecent exposure and we ended up doing a story. I will tell you, my first question to the interview subject never made it to air. "You washed this thing, right?"
