"Eat My Florida" blogger Brian Reis turns up this amazing website that lists Florida restaurants that have been fined by the Florida Department of Hotels and Restaurants. My co-anchor, Wendy Ryan tells me that a fine suggests a repeated or uncorrected violation of the code.
The shocker for me is the sheer number of Tampa restaurants (291) that have been cited for multiple violations and fined since 2005. 28 restaurants on Waters, 28 on Hillsborough and 35 on Dale Mabry. It's enough to make you want to learn how to cook.
