BUCCANEERS SIGN TE LEAK AND DE WHITE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have signed TE C.J. Leak and DE Greg White. Terms were not disclosed. The team also released LB Evan Benjamin and DT Justin Frick.
Leak was a member of the Buccaneers from May 22 through June 22. He also participated as a tryout player in Tampa Bay’s three-day rookie minicamp from May 4-6. He spent part of 2006 as a member of the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad. Leak is the brother of former Florida Gator quarterback Chris Leak and son of former Buccaneer wide receiver Curtis Leak, who played with Tampa Bay in 1976.
White, who played under Buccaneers offensive assistant coach and Orlando Predators Head Coach Jay Gruden, set the Arena Football League record with 15 sacks in 2007. He also earned First-Team All-Arena, AFL Lineman of the Year and AFL Defensive Player of Year awards in the process. In 2006, he earned all-rookie honors. A seventh-round draft pick of the Houston Texans in 2002 (229th pick overall), he has spent time on the practice squads of Washington, New Orleans, Tennessee, Atlanta and Tampa Bay during his professional career. White was signed by the Chicago Bears prior to the 2005 season and allocated to the Cologne Centurions, where he led the league with seven sacks.
Frick, who has spent two stints on the team, originally joined the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent on May 3. Benjamin was signed on January 17.
