First order of business here is keep your starters and strong bench players healthy. So, don't expect to see the front line guys line up against Houston. If a few do, they will likely be one and done, as in one series and out.
This game will be for the bench players the Bucs will likely be counting on this season. Their performance could affect the depth chart, not their ability to make the football team. For those who are not on the Bucs keeper list going into this game, they will likely have to play out of their minds to play themselves on the roster.
Who are those players? The most obvious is QB Chris Simms. We all know the score there. DE Julian Jenkins/DT Greg Peterson - this is neck and neck. Decision will likely come from where the need is most, inside or outside on the DL.
RB Kenneth Darby - Fumble in week 2 and illegal chop block in week 3 negated a stellar opening act in the preseason. If Darby is cut, I hope the Bucs can retain him for the practice squad. RB's with his vision and balance are a rare commodity.
Ryan Nece - Tape doesn't lie. He's struggling to learn MLB position. I just hope the Bucs haven't set him up to fail. Ryan is truely one of the class acts in this league, on and off the field.
Those are my thoughts....Fire away with yours.
