Can we all please take a deep breath?
All this attention given to "Patriot-gate" and Bill Belichick ordering his team photographers to shoot Jets asssitant coaches to steal their signals, is way off the hook.
Let's get real. Teams have been stealing signals since signals were first given. This happens on a daily basis in baseball and basketball and do we hear demands of forfeited draft picks and a 4-game suspension for the head coach?
Come on!! You know the mantra of professional sports.."if you're not cheating, you're not trying!!" You may not want to hear that, but that is life in all pro sports. Players, coaches, general managers and owners all take the rules to the limit and beyond. I'm not saying cheating is right or it should be tolerated. If anybody breaks a rule, there are penalties. And rest assured Belichick isn't the only coach in the NFL that wants to know another team's signals.
Let me ask you this...if the Seahawks had been accused of stealing the Buccaneers' signals, would we have seen the same media circus?? No way! This is all about the New York media beating this into the ground...because it happened to one of their teams.
Why isn't the same attention given to retired NFL players that can't get enough money from their pensions to live?
Why aren't people complaining that #1 pick JaMarcus Russell gets some $60-million dollars with $29-mill guaranteed? Russell has never played a snap in the NFL. Yet that deal is more than Derrick Brooks has made in his career. That has to be fixed.
Those are issues that really deserve this firestorm...not "stealing signals."
