As much as I have to read between the lines of what Bucs General Manager Bruce Allen is really saying, I commend him for not ripping David Boston. Frankly, that took alot of self-control.
Why? Because drugs tests said so, and the team front office was obviously riding on David's self-professed testimony. In other words, Boston lied, and that's why he was cut. Allen wasn't about to come out and say as much. This so called injury Boston sustained in pre-game warmups against Seattle is a bunch of bunk in my mind. Maybe Boston set up the injury to get a settlement before his release. Maybe the Bucs made the injury up, and scratched Boston from playing because they got wind of what was coming down. Who knows, and who cares at this point. Boston got his last chance ticket with the Bucs. The Buccaneers took a flyer on him, and Boston not only let them down, he let himself down. I wish David Boston the best, because I truly believe he is a good man. I just hope he has the right people around him who give a damn about him. Because right now, he needs comfort and direction.
