Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the biggest college game ever played in the Tampa Bay area! #5 West Virginia vs. #18 USF. South Florida has become the daring of the college ranks as of late. A much deserved top 20 ranking on both polls. Tonight, we find out if WVU is really among the elite's in college football. If so, USF is in trouble.
Five keys to the Game for USF
1. Keep game as low scoring as possible ( USF can't win if it's a score-a-thon.)
2. Get off to a fast start ( get the sold out crowd rock'in)
3. Turnovers ( USF must get two to win)
4. Special teams (field position critical tonight)
5. Keep poised (especially if WVU jumps out early)
As much as I am pulling for Jim Leavitt and his program, I just don't think they are quite in West Virginia's league. Having this game at home helps, but to see the line sitting at WVU as 6 1/2 point favorites says volumes. It opened at seven. Unless the Vegas oddsmakers are brain-dead on this one, rarely do they make a mistake, especially in games like this one.
I can't go with my heart on this one, I must go with my head. WVU remains unbeaten but the Bulls come out of this one with even more respect than they've been receiving lately. In fact, I wouldn't rule out an overtime.
