Bucs are inspiration to everyone

Forget the 3 and 1 record.  Forget the fact the Bucs are leading their division.  I would like to focus on an element of this team that carries more weight than wins and losses.  It's called "TEAM."

FOX analyst Sam Rosen was stunned when he saw the entire Bucs team run across the field to console Cadillac Williams as he was carted off the field.  Sam obviously didn't hear about Paris Warren.  Now the entire nation knows - this Bucs team has a tight-knit resolve unmatched in the NFL.  It's contagious. It's infectious. It's an intangible rarely see in any level of sports.

As a broadcaster, I can't tell you the countless times I get shallow rhetoric from players.  Absolutely no conviction behind their statements.  They say what they want the public to hear.  With this team, there is no B.S.  They say what they mean, and mean what they say.  They have heart!

No matter if this team wins another game, I am going on record right now, and going against the trend that determines job stability in the NFL....wins and losses.  Head Coach Jon Gruden is off the hot-seat, period.  If I was the owner of that franchise, I'd be proud as hell to own it.  Furthermore, I'd be inacting an extension, not a termination of anyone's contract.  That includes the head coach.  Two weeks ago, I thought this team "might" have something going.  Today, we say they "defintely" do.  Far more than what wins and losses determine.

I guarantee seven wins this season max, and that means Gruden and his flunky Allen are out the door.

Nice piece. I'm with you Tom, this team has heart and Gruden has helped to instill this demeaner. He's a keeper.

It is a sad day in Tampa Bay when the venom fans have for the head coach would blind them to the fact that their team has united and are playing as a family. A young man was balling his eyes out after having his knee destroyed and his career threatened. Some are actually happy about this despite the fact that his uniform beared a Bucs insignia. It was a beautiful moment to witness for the team to react like that and is the attitude for the Bucs to topple opponents much greater then themselves. Some fans should be ashamed of themselves, if we can call them fans in the first place. Excellent article Tom.

Tom, great article.  And MVP..... Well Said.  It's a sad day in society when the local reporting (SPTimes and Tribune) are only interested in controversial topics and integrate their articles with venomous opinion......... leading to the sheep mentality of ignorant message board postings, relaying negative opinion, and trying to pass it off as fact.

Back to Sunday and the injury......Although I couldn't be happier to see such team unity, there's not much being said about the class of the Panther fans in attendance.  The entire stadium was on their feet, and sending condolences to Carnell as he exited the field.

From a Buc fans perspective...... I don't think I've seen a classier act at an NLF stadium in the last ten years!!

Thanks Panther fans, for restoring a little faith in human dignity!!
