TK'S Monday Bucs Bulletin: Team will survive two season ending injuries

Here's the deal.  Cadillac Williams and Luke Petitgout are out for the year with knee injuries.  Not good, but certainly not a season killer.  For one, Cadillac wasn't exactly burning up the carpet out there.  Earnest Graham and Michael Pittman are more than capable to pick up the slack.  Head Coach Jon Gruden was non-commital about bringing up Kenneth Darby from the practice squad.  They're combing the country right now.

Luke's injury is a bit concerning.  First, he's the main protector of this team's QB Jeff Garcia.  The job now goes to Donald Penn.  Penn is no Petitgout.  MEMO TO DONALD: Even if you have to drag the defensive end down, don't let him put a breath on Garcia.  Expect a tight end to help out Sunday against Indy.

Gruden was tired today, and a little testy.  Can't blame him.  I know the Petitgout situation has him down.  I also saw Gruden send another indirect message to his defense, basically putting the fate of Sunday's game against Indy in their hands.

The good news is, the pressure is off this team this week.  No one is expecting the Bucs to win.  The Colts will likely be 6 1/2 point favorites, maybe more when the line come out.

May I throw caution to the wind - Peyton Manning has one to two bad games a season, especially after running up big numbers like he has in the first four weeks.  Could this be the week he bombs?

I'll have more Wednesday after I speak to the players.
