I am convinced, after watching the Bucs rush for only 30 yards vs. Tennessee, they are going to make a deal for a RB by tomorrow's 4pm trade deadline. The only way it doesn't get done is if the price is too high. After Sunday's performance, I would think the Bucs would be willing to up the ante. There is no way the Buccaneers can make a serious playoff run with the rushing game the past two weeks.
Head Coach Jon Gruden said the team is working the phones. But, as we know, you have to have a willing party. Who might dance? Oakland, Minnesota, Detroit, and San Diego. Who are the players: Justin Fargas/Dominic Rhodes, Melwelde Moore, Tatum Bell and Michael Turner. Turner would be worth a high pick.
Gruden also said that Tight End Alex Smith is questionable for Sunday's game vs. Detroit. That's a stretch. DE Patrick Chukworah is also questionable. Patrick could hardly get his socks on because his shoulder was so sore. That's a stretch to.
I will not be attending the Bucs Wednesday chat with the players. I will be in Pascataway for the USF-Rutgers game. However, I will leave you with this thought. If there is a game Coach Marinelli and son-in law, Coach Barry want to win, it's the one coming up.
No disrespect towards the Bucs coaching staff, but Barry's situation leaving the Bucs was stressed to say the least. It was more the front office telling Barry he couldn't leave. Will Sunday be payback time? I'll have my pick Saturday night at 11 on ABC Action News. After the Tenn. game, we are 3-2-1 vs. spread.
