Separating the BS from the BCS

I'm not a fan of the BCS.  The time has come for college football to have a real playoff.

But if there is one redeeming quality of the BCS...it forces teams to win.  For all of you whining that USF doesn't deserve to be #2 in the BCS poll you can't take away the fact that USF has played 6 games and won all 6.  That includes a win at then #17 Auburn.  And the big one, a win at home over then #5 West Virginia.  You can't whine about strength of schedule.

At this point in the season, the question is not if USF could beat LSU or Oklahoma or USC or whomever.  The question is who is rated best at October 14 after feeding all the data into the computers.  The Bulls are there because they haven't lost.

LSU could be#1 if the Tigers hadn't lost to Kentucky.  Cal could be there if it hadn't lost to Oregon State. Oklahoma is still mad about Colorado.  USC ditto over Stanford.

You can blame the BCS for a lot of things.  But if you don't win, you can blame only yourself.

Im not a fan of the BCS either, but WOULD like to see more interconference games other than bowl appearances.  I'm tired of hearing fans of the SEC and the teams within that conference claiming to be the BEST EVER.  There's no possible way of proving that point unless you play other conferences.  You most certainly can NOT count CREAM PUFF schools in that category becasue all teams, if they're smart, play down to the other team anyway.  This is the time for many schools to help their second string gain experience.  Others use it as a way to impress polls.  It's a flawed system if they are judgeing ALL GAMES AS BEING EQUAL.  One can not POSSIBLY claim to be the best conference ever unless you are DOMINATING EVERY TEAM OF EVERY OTHER CONFERENCE.  That being said SEC FANS,  a Florida win over Ohio State does NOT mean you the SEC conference is superior over the BIG 10.  It proves that FLorida beat Ohio state that day and NOTHING MORE. It was a great win for FLorida and they deserved the right to call themselves national champions.  HOWEVER, remember, Tennessee LOST to Penn state and Wisconsin beat Arkansas in their bowl games.  Arkansas played Florida for the SEC championship.  If the SEC was the superior conference, why did two of your top teams LOSE to the BIG 10.  GET OVER YOURSELVES.

As far as the BCS, it might work if they take out the preseason polls.

Although i am not a USF fan, i commend what they have done.  GOOD FOR THEM.  Who cares that they didn't have a winning program until now.  The fact remains that they are WINNING and they are beating GOOD TEAMS in good conferences.  I never believed that ONE game is representative of the other teams being GOOD OR BAD.  ALL FACTORS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED and if given the opportunity to play the game again, the other team might in fact win. I hope USF continues to win so that many of their critics are SHUT UP.  College football has gotten blown out of proportion.  I enjoy each game and take it for face value and nothing more.  We have too many talk shows and analysts.  It's not rocket science.  It's a football game.  Each team is playing for the same goal and they all play equally as hard.
