TK's USF vs. Rutgers preview

Hello from Piscataway, New Jersey.  Funny thing going on around here.  There's a very low key approach to tonight's game.  Rutgers fans must be saving themselves, and the 1,000 or so USf Bulls fans must be spread around the NYC/NJ area.

Don't get me wrong, the Bulls should be well represented tonight.  But this Thursday night game has probably thrown a wrench in the usual pre-game celebrations here in NJ..

As for tonight's matchup - Rutgers has one weapon, and that is RB Ray Rice.  He rushed for 202 yards last year vs. USF at Ray Jay and the Bulls lost 22-20.  If this guy gets loose tonight, trouble for the Bulls.  USF's defense must set the tone early and keep Rutgers from gaining any early momentum.  If they stop Rice, they'll win this one by 7-10 points, if they don't, they lose.

In combination, the USf offense just needs to be serviceable.  Hence, NO TURNOVERS, and DO NOT to make something out of nothing.  Ben Williams and Mike Ford will loom huge tonight.  Thye have the capabilities to sting this Rutgers defense.  You know and I know it, the Rutgers "D" will key on Grothe tonight.

At this writing, the Bulls are two point favorites.  They are ranked #2 in the country.  But, the only thing that matters is which team comes the most prepared on a very short week.

TK's prediction:  USF 24 Rutgers 21.  A field goal wins it. Hopefully it's USF kicking it..

USF wins BIG 38-10! Vegas wants you to take Rutgers and they are NO MATCH. They will lose BIG and Vegas cleans up. Come on Rutgers is not last years team. USF will keep Rice on the sideline in the first half and by the 3rd Q and after get only 6 carries because they will be freaked out that they are losing bad! Look for USF to blow them away! If this was LSU or OHIO playing in the number 2 spot, the would be giving up 14 points to Rutgers but because Vegas wants to win you have a low point it's all hypo to make you bet for the underdog...please Rutgers is no match at ALL! You will see...USF in the national championship game this year and will win it big...look for them to win again next year as well!

yeah! and then they're gonna go to the NFL and clean up there too, going undefeated, winning the super bowl. Selvie, Moffitt and Grothe will all get co-mvp and then everyone is gonna fly to the moon and have a ridiculously huge bubble party in low gravity.

I give my props to the Bulls. I'm a Florida native but I have to go for the Rutgers. It's going to be a close game but I have to say that Rutgers will win by 3-7 points. If they were talking about the BUCS then I would say they would win.......The BULLS are like last year Rutgers and end up losing.

Ouch, the bulls couldn't pull it off. Shady calls by the refs? I think not.

Is that whining I hear from the USF campus?  Now the hats and teeshirts can go back into the closet.  Maybe next year, or the next, or the next.  A powerhouse they are not.
