Joe Torre has said thanks but no thanks.  According to the Yankees, Torre was offered a base salary of $5-million dollars for next season.  Torre was also offered $1-million dollar bonuses for making the playoffs and the World Series.  If he made the World Series, that would activate the option for another year. 

Torre has not said why he has turned down the offer.  The Yankees say they are moving on immediately to find a replacement for Torre as Yankee manager.
