Capitol Punishment!!

52-7 the Patriots over Washington.

Talk about Capitol Punishment!!

Redskins linebacker Randall Godfrey complained that the Patriots purposely piled up the points.  Godfrey says he told Patriots coach Bill Belichick that it showed a "lack of respect for the game."

Memo to Godfrey.

STOP!!

This is the NFL.  This is the ultimate in professional sports.  If you are that concerned with feelings and playing nice...enroll in an etiquette class.  And Randall, just like some Pee Wee leagues, we'll make sure you get a trophy just for participating.

The best way to end a whippin' is to stop a whippin'.  Godfrey should talk to his teammates about a "lack of respect" for ALLOWING the Patriots to roll it up.  Mike Ditka says it so well, "don't get mad, get EVEN!"

Last I checked, "strength of victory" and points and tiebreakers in the NFL.  Just the week before, the Patriots took pedal off medal with a 42-7 lead.  Miami cut it to 49-28.

Belichick has a massive boulder on his shoulder after the fallout from "spygate".  He is making the rest of the NFL pay for it.  And why shouldn't he?  The critics can say all they want.  As long as the Patriots are undefeated, do you think Belichick cares?

The true laugher in all of this...Godfrey says he hopes to see the Patriots again.  After winning 52-7, I'm sure the Patriots would like the same.

Last I checked, the Redskins had one less loss than the Bucs.  And they got rolled by the Pats. So what, get in line.  The Bucs have 4 losses and they haven't played anybody yet.  The skins have 3 losses, to 3 of the top 5 teams in the league. Don't just take my word, look at the standings. Unfortunately for Washington, 2 of the top 5 are also in the NFC East.

The Bucs are a powder puff team playing in a powder puff division they are almost guaranteed to win without doing anything remarkable.

As to the Pats, I don't think it's disrespectful to run up the score, I think it's stupid. When the Pats are up on the Bills 38-0 and they start going for it on 4th down with Brady, don't expect Brady to last long. Someone is going to end this by sending an all out blitz, regardless of the dangers that entails.  This will not end well for Brady and if Belicheck is such a genius he would not continue to put his quarterback in danger by embarassing other teams.

Last but not least, try and pick on a leader when you're quoting a player. Everyone is making a big deal about Godfrey's remarks, and I know it's easy to get on the bandwagon, but Godfrey is a benchwarmer the 'Skins signed after San Diego released him.
