Imagine this wake up call:
Baseball Team: "Good morning, John. This is the front office for the Laredo Broncos. We can't wait have you here on the team."
Baseball Player: "Huh? I play for the Calgary Vipers."
Baseball Team: "Not anymore! We traded for you last night."
Baseball Player: "Oh. Well, who did you trade for me?"
Baseball Team: "Um...well...we got you for 10 bats".
Yeah. You read it. The Calgary Vipers of the independent Golden Baseball League swapped a pitcher for ten new baseball bats. Pitcher John Odom wasn't allowed into Canada to join his Vipers teammates because of some immigration reasons. The Broncos pounced on that opportunity, willing to send a few players to Canada for the pitching prospect.
Turns out, the Vipers were not really that interested in any of the Broncos' players.
They just wanted some new bats.
