Favre to Bucs? Give me a break!

I'm not going to waste much of my time writing about this idiotic notion of Brett Favre landing in pewter and red.

Here's my take.  Favre wants his release from GB and come out of retirement for one year.  Why.  Because he didn't plan his life or prepare for life after football.  We see this all the time, players who hang on so long because football is all they know what to do.

Certainly, Brett Favre doesn't need the money, does he?  To me, it's a case of a guy who still thinks he's a legend in his own mind, but in reality, he's just bored and deep down, a little scared to leave the game.

If I was Packer management, the gloves come off now.  The franchise has bent over backwards for Favre.  Yes, he is their modern day legend, but like Wisconsin cheese, it starts to stink after a while.  Get my drift.  Packer fans should be peeved themselves.  Now you Cheeseheads are seeing the real deal:  It's all about Brett.  It's all about getting that last $10 million dollar payday from some sucker franchise.

Packer management, make Favre go to the league and ask for reinstatement.  Then dump him.

Closer to home, If I were Jon Gruden, I would be on the phone right now to Jeff Garcia clearing the air on this nonsense.

Tom, I I think if you could do anything that Brett Farve has done that you wouldn't have to sit behind a desk and wirte about somebody else's life.

The last season that Brett Farve played he still had a 3000 yard passing season or some where close to that.  He never missed a game and almost took Green Bay to the Superbowl.  He is still a legend (not in his own mind) but with everyone I talk to.  Realize it is not about the money he is one of the players that loves the game.  I don't think you see stuff clearly enough and where he ends up .. hopefully Green Bay .. he is a large weapon of which no one will like to face from across the line.

APPLAUSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, Good for you! I totally agree. I hope he does come back and plays for a different team. I disliked him as a packer and I'll look forward to disliking him even more on another team!

Hell yes I'd take Favre for a season! I'm so sentimental I wish we could bring back Warren for a season so they could be on the same team just once.

The Bucs don't need Favre. When Jeff Garcia was brought in last offseason, he was hailed as the consistent leader needed to right the ship. 13 scores and 4 picks later, the Bucs win the NFC South, despite his injuries and late-season benching for "rest". Jeff Garcia is and should be the starting QB for 2008 and perhaps '09 and '10.

If Favre hadn't been making things all about him for the past four years, maybe he would have my sympathy. As it is, I'll remember Favre as a pain-pill abusing, media darling, interception machine who won one (1) Superbowl and toward the back half of his career was consistently a me-first player. Sure he had fun on the field. But all too often, so did the opposing defense.
Is he a top 20 all time QB? Maybe.
Top 15? Doubt it.
Top 10? Not a chance.

The Bucs don't have a good enough offensive line to protect Brett. He'd be crushed and ready for another retirement in two weeks.

As a life long Packer fan  (56 years) i would love to see Brett in green and gold next fall, even if he was Rogers backup. But the reality to most of us Cheesehead, is that Ted Thompson has had an agenda since he arrived and that was to deplete the team of their talent, with an end result of getting rid of Brett making it clear he was not part of the "Thompson Packer Vision".  Its Ted Thompson who should be shown the door, now there is some one who thinks he is a "legend in his own mind".  Bret Farve has never come off in interviews as a "me" guy and that is why he is loved in Green Bay.

Here's hoping that Bret can get released if they won't play him, because thousands of screaming Cheeseheads fans aren't going to be happy to see #4 relagated to the bench. Let him go and play for a team other than the Viks or Bears, maybe Atlanta or New Orleans would be a better fit.

Brett Farve is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game - period. If I am not mistaken, he was playing in top form most of last season. He is still better than Aaron Rogers and 80-90% of all quarterbacks playing the game. He should be able to do what HE wants to do. This is a free country! Greenbay management made a hell of a mistake "deciding to move on"; move on to what? Aaron Rogers? You've got to be kidding me. The Packers are in for anothe loooooong drought. How soon they forget. Within 2-3 years, Rogers will be a total bust, the little fat coach will have been fired, and thank God the idiot manager (Thompson) will be gone. If Farve goes to Tampa, that's my team. Screw the Packers!

Favre still has plenty of game left, and if the chance comes along where the Bucs can sign him, they should. I like Garcia, but I like Farve Better. Even if for one season.

I think Brett Favre wanted to be released last year. I think he would like to play for another team, to see if it's him or the organization. I would love to see him play for Tampa. if nothing else, wouldn't it be great ot see Jon Gruden chew out his ass?

Bret needs to make up his mind and not blame the team for being indecisive.  I don't blame the Packers for "moving on".  Bret is on Fox tonight saying that they didn't tell him everything.  "WHAT"   Bret, you've retired numerous times before and came back.  I think you like drama.  Grow up.  Get a job at Fox.
