Even on my day off I can't help but vent on this Favre garbage. Did anyone listen to Jeff Garcia today? He was bold, and he presented himself like a #1 quarterback in this league should. This is his team! Doesn't matter who the Bucs bring in. Now that's the kind of quarterback I want on my team.
Not some guy who can't make up his mind and ad-libs his way through every scenerio in life. That's Brett Favre. He rides to the beat of his own drummer and could care less what fallout it has on others. It's all about him.
Don't give me this stuff that Favre is waiting for two days and then he will report to camp. If he does, he will be doing a hell of a lot of standing around. Think he wants to be humiliated like that?
For someone to say that the Green Bay organization is at fault here, I totally disagree. Favre had every opportunity to tell the team before it had to make a decision that he was coming back. He didn't. The team moved on, so tough luck. I don't give a care if he is a legend. There is only one boss, and Brett Favre is not the boss. Brett, my son, get a reality check. Every one of us live in it, about time you did too.
Furthermore, if Roger Goodell puts his fingers in this one, he's out of line. The commissioner has no business in this matter. For the good of the game, give me a break. The NFL will not get any black eye over this. and Roger baby, last time I checked, hardly anyone gives a dang about what Favre does next.
I do care because this decision could affect the Bucs if they do a deal. My guess is they inquired, but are not even remotely serious at this point. The compensation is too steep.
It's about time Gruden and Allen fess up on this Favre rumor and put it to bed. Talk about waffling, the Bucs are stringing everyone along. Someone is lying here on the Bucs, and I don't like to be lied to. It's offensive to me and to the Tampa Bay community I represent when I'm asking questions. Cut the crap, Garcia is the guy, and wish Favre good luck.
