For Bucs: Garcia is the right choice!

The NFL is all about numbers....so here is some pretty easy 4th grade math for all you Bucs fans:

Garcia > Favre

Yeah, I know all you Favre-worshipers out there will point out No. 4's career numbers and ALLL of his bright and shiny records, but think about this...

It took Brian Griese a whole season and entire off season to learn this Gruden offense. Simms struggled in it. Gradkowski bombed. McCown was iffy.

Garcia, however, faired pretty well right away. He ended last season with a 94.7 passer rating, 13 TDs and only 4 INTs.

Oh, you are busy looking up Favre's 2008 numbers to counter my claim? Don't bother. I see his 28 TDs, and that's pretty darn good, but I also see his 15 INTs...tied for 5th worst in 2008. That includes 7 games with 2 picks. His teams went 4-3 in those games. By the way, the final pass of his career, AT HOME NO LESS, cost the Packers a trip to the Super Bowl. So don't say he'd be a better fit.

Garcia was outstanding last season and he did all of his damage with a WEAK bunch of receivers. Favre had much better wideouts. Garcia single-handedly led this Bucs team to the playoffs and will do so again this season. As much as Gruden cycles through QBs, he may have finally found one that fits his scheme PERFECTLY.

IF the Bucs bring in Favre, go ahead and flush the toilet on this season. The Bucs will win less than 7 games. Favre can't do what all you cheeseheads think he can. Garcia is proven, the players have his back, and the division is there for the taking. Put your faith in Garcia...A PRO BOWLER LAST SEASON...and stop wishing for Favre in pewter.

Why give up two HIGH drafts picks for Mediocre when you don't have to give up anything for Proven.

If the Bucs want to be the first team to ever play in a Super Bowl in the home stadium, (yes the big game is at Ray Jay this February) they need to ride Garcia's coat-tails. There is no way Favre can learn Gruden's offense in a few short weeks. Stick with Garcia. Let him do what he does, lead.

The sun has set on Favre and his career. Go home to Mississippi, old man.
