Bucs loss expected

If you read our Bucs/Saints Preview, we laid out the reasons why the Bucs would have a tough time in Sunday's season opener.  We also predicted the Saints covering the spread, which they did.

If you saw Sunday's game, you see now how much more competitive NO is in 2008.  Drew Brees may very well be the best quarterback in NFC. Sorry ,Tony Romo.  Reggie Bush did surprise me.  If the opener is a gauge, he has elevated his game bigtime.

We also predicted that Jeff Garcia would be rusty, and take at least to week three to be at his best.  He was rusty today, and Joey Galloway was hardly the go-to-deep-threat we saw last year.  He was covered well (man-to-man) which will change when Galloway gets his legs under him.

What I did not forecast was the Bucs ability, despite giving up over 400 yards offense and three touchdowns, still have a chance to win it at the end.  I expected NO to win by 10, but the Bucs took it almost to double zero.  That gives this team hope for next Sunday in their home opener against Atlanta.  One problem there, Michael Turner.  Did you see what that guy did against Detroit!  He is a fantasy stud!

On a side note, you are an obvious N.O. fan, and I'm sure this comment will be deleted.

Mr. "tdeath":

Count up the Playoff victories for Romo. Let me know when you get past 0.

Brees puts up 4,000 yard seasons without a go-to guy.
Romo is largely, nay, MOSTLY a product of having Terrible Owens on the field both making spectacular catches and also drawing coverage away from a top 5 tight end: Jason Witten.

To say this blog post (which is not a newspaper article or any kind of "statement of fact") is garbage is ludicrous. It's an opinion. Your comment was an opinion also. This is called the internet. I'm sure you knew that since you started by laughing your ... off.

Need some duct tape to fix that?

I hear Buc players and coach complaining that  preseason being to long... and that they don't need four games to be ready. Yea, right! Why the heck the rust? Bucs as a whole, looked flat and rusty yesterday.  Especially at QB. Greese definetly gives us a better chance to win. Jeff better pick up a bunch next week.

t death- read your blog.  Just to clear your mind,  I am not a Saints fan. Just call it like I see it every week.  About Romo vs. Brees-  See you at season's end.
