It wasn't a picasso, but it was a win, a convincing one at that over an outmanned Atlanta team.
As we detected during the week, the Bucs offense responded to QB Brian Griese. He had a yo-man's day, throwing for one TD and not making the big mistake. That makes him 6 and 1 as a Buccaneers start dating back to three years ago, 10-7 overall. That's the second best highest winning percentage of any Bucs QB.
The rushing game is strong and we would think Gruden would use it more. The Bucs defense made amends for that lousy performance against NO last week. QB Matt Ryan looked like a rookie this week, which he is. Ryan was up against a true Cover Two defense with personnel to bear it out.
Stakes get higher this coming Sunday as the Bucs tavel to Chicago to play the Bears.
For the time being, we'll take being 2 and oh for the season on our Bucs picks. I'll be back in two weeks with my next pick.
