There are losses...and there are losses.
No doubt that Thursday night's 11-8 debacle was tough to swallow for anybody that has interest in the Rays.
Yet, try to look at the big picture.
The Rays are starting to hit.
Five homers in the loss. Three by Evan Longoria.
The Rays will make the playoffs. While it would be nice to own a AL East title, they'll be fine without it -- especially if they are hitting.
Carlos Pena has been red hot since the All-Star break.
Evan Longoria has hit his stride since returning from his broken wrist.
If those two hit...the Rays score runs...and that takes pressure off the pitching staff.
I know the Rays want nothing less than a division crown...just make the playoffs and the rest will take care of itself.
