I had a chance to talk to quite a few players this morning over at Buc Headquarters.
Here's what they had to say:
Brian Griese- His arm has recovered since the Chicago game where he threw 67 passes. Griese would prefer not be in that situation again for obvious reasons, especially against a defense like Green Bay's. He'll be facing a pretty formidable pass rush. However, they did last week against Chicago and Griese was not sacked. There was considerable discussion on the two minute drill used by the Bucs. It worked so well against the Bears, we may see it again against GB. That's me talking, not Griese.
Davin Joseph- If it was up to him, he would have already been in the lineup. However, he doesn't make the final call and can't predict when his return will be. Jospeh has been very impressed with Jeremy Zuttah and how he's handled the right guard spot in hsi absence.
Jermaine Phillips: Secondary is ready to strap it on Sunday. Packers come with a four and five receiver set. They will test the Bucs secondary, be assured of that.
Chris Hovan: Adding to what Phillips said, Hovan knows the D-line needs to get pressure on Aaron Rogers so it doesn't become a field day out there. That's premium. along with stopping the GB rushing attack of Grant and Jackson.
Jeremy Trueblood: Trueblood talked about the scuffle he got into in Chicago. He says he's not a dirty player as Chicago says he is. He hopes that the officials aren't going to target him the rest of this season. He is going to do whatever it takes not to make the same mistake that Charles Tillman did in the Chicago game. It was in Chicago through much of Tuesday and Tillman was still getting fried by the media and fans.
Cato June: Knows the Packers love to get those mimatches with WR on LB. June reiterated what Hovan said to combat that mismatch. PRESSURE UP FRONT!
Warrick Dunn- Knows the running game has to post this Sunday against GB. Bears put eight in the box. If GB does the same, there are ways to get them out of it.
By the way, Bucs are favored by only one. Interesting, being the game is at home. I'll have my TK's Bucs pick later in the week.
