Rays-Red Sox running

Boston nearly took a 1-0 lead in the first.  Kevin Youkilis with his first career hit in 18 at bats against James Shields.  The Rays actualy received a break because if it had not been a ground rule double, the Sox would have easily scored.

Shields has to believe Tim McClelland's strike zone is tighter than the late Hugh Culverhouse.

BJ Upton just missed on a Daisuke fastball.  It was his pitch and he didn't get good wood.

Evan Longoria was upset wuith McClelland's third strike call.  But he also missed an opportunity on an 0-1 pitch.

The Rays left the bases juiced in the first, but they did make Daisuke throw 27 pitches in the first.  Matsuzaka won't make it to the 5th at that rate..
