Scott Kazmir was not the problem. Surprisingly, the bullpen was. Kaz racked up 7 K's, and surrendered just 2 hits in 6 innings of shutout work, leaving the Fenway mound with a 5-0 lead, and a World Series ticket all but punched.
By the time Grant Balfour entered the game in the 7th, it was 7-0 Rays....what followed was as unprobable as the Rays turnaround season....9 hits, 2 HR's, and 8 runs later, the ALCS is headed back to St. Pete....8-7 Red Sox a winner.
See you Saturday.
