I know you don't want to hear this Rays fans...
But take away the emotion...
Take away a creepy feeling of what might be ahead...
And that was the most incredible sporting event I have ever seen.
From BJ Upton's first inning homer to JD Drew's gamewinning drive in the bottom of the 9th, that was unequalled entertainment.
I have been to every sporting event out there, and the emotion in Fenway in the 8th and 9th innings was unparalleled. Fenway was deafening. 38,000 on their feet.
Many sporting events leave you drained and wiped out.
This left me begging for more.
And it may be more than I really want.
The Rays said to a man, they will be able to set this aside and move on. While nothing this team does surprises me, I don't know how any team cannot have scar tissue after a loss like that.
I don't care that the bullpen collapsed. I don't care that the Rays gave up 8 unanswered runs. I don't care that the Rays had chances in the 9th and hit into an inning ending double play.
Game 5 was oozing with drama.
As a sports fan, what more can you ask for?
The Rays are expecting the Trop to carry them the way the Fenway Faithful lifted the Red Sox.
Here's hoping Game 6 gives all new meaning to Saturday Night Fever.
