TK's Bucs Pick
Line: Bucs -10 1/2
TK vs. Spread 4-0-1
It's Prime Time Sunday for Jon Gruden's Buccaneers, and they are huge favorites for this meeting with the Seattle.
Obviously, the boys in Vegas are looking at yet another cross-country trip for Mike Holmgren's team. Grant you, they are brutal, when your traveling commercial and your connecting flight is delayed or canceled. Not a big deal when your chartering the skies at your schedule, nonstop, with no delay.
Lets deal with the facts. Seattle is without Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. That in itself has the Vegas line lopsided. Second, as of this writing Holmgren hasn't announced who is starting QB will be. Although, Seneca Wallace says he's fit to play, we still wait for the green light from the head coach. Whether it's Seneca or Charlie Frye, it's a significant downgrade. Wallace has a better feel for Holmgren's offense, Frye is still learning. We're no sure if WR Deion Branch or Koren Robinson will play. Robinson is questionable. Branch is likely more of a long-shot.
However, Seattle's defense is intact and they can play. No quit in that unit.
Now for the Bucs, on a night Mike Alstott will be honored. A very deserving pre-game ceremony for the A-Train. That will be his moment. The game will be the team's. Two completely different factions. The crowd may get more geeked up. Doubtful the players will get any more amped up. Not to say they wouldn't like to win the game for Alstott, they would. The 60 minutes of football will be all about the now, not the past.
We'll just lay this out there right now. The Bucs should win this game. I'm wrestling with the 10 1/2 points. I know Seattle is struggling, and the Bucs are riding a little high right now. Heck, I don't even know who will be starting for Seattle on offense. But I've always made a rule to myself. When there's a double digit line on an NFL game, walk away or take the points. Again, I say to you, this pick is for entertainment purposes only. Without all the facts at hand, you'd be nuts to fool with this game. I hate to put my undefeated record against the spread on this game right now, but here goes.
TK'S PICK: SEATTLE +10 1/2
