The rain continues to fall and the winds continue to whip.
But Major League Baseball continues to say Game 3 of the World Series is on!!
Rain and wins of 30 mph have pelted the Philadelphia-area all day. While MLB refuses to make an official announcement, Rays manager Joe Maddon says the field crew has told him a final rain cell should be gone by 8 pm and it will take groundskeepers until around 9:30 to get Citizens Bank Park ready for baseball.
And baseball is determined to get this game in. MLB does not want the possibility of 5 straight games with no travel days in between games 5 and 6.
Joe Maddon has announced his starting lineup. Gabe Gross returns to rightfield., Gross will bat 7th. Gross is hitting .063 in postseason. That's only one hit in 16 at bats.
Remember, there is no DH in the National League parks.
The pitchers...Matt Garza faces Jamie Moyer.
