Not sure how you felt, but watching today's Bucs-Cowboys game was hard to take. When the Bucs defense holds Dallas to 13 points and 172 yards in total offense, you would think a win was in order. Nope. The offense never found the endzone and to lay it right out there, the Bucs defense screwed up big-time on a late second half Dallas drive that really cost them the game.
There were four Buccaneer penalities on the Cowboys final drive before the half....Ronde Barber got nailed for a horsecollar tackle on 3rd and long. Phillip Buchanon got nailed for a pass interference call.....Akib Talib got a five yarder, and then Cato June is hit with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that gave Dallas a 1st and goal at the Bucs 2 with :06 seconds left. No penalty there, Dallas would have had to kick the field goal....Instead, they get that one play and Brad Johnson hit Roy Williams on a fade route......a four-point swing.
It was a hard-fought game, but one that has to frustrate Jon Gruden. As it stands, the Bucs finish the first half of the season at 5 and 3, and out of first place in the NFC South. Only one more game against K-C before the bye-week. 6 and 3 would look very nice.
