It took Steven Stamkos eight games to score his first NHL point.  It took him nine to score his first NHL goal.

  Stamkos tipped in a slap shot by Vinny LeCavalier in the first period to record his first NHL goal, giving the Lightning a 1-0 lead.

  Stamkos scored later in the 2nd period on a pure slap shot from the right wing.  The Lightning rookie added a assist for a three point night as the Bolts beat Buffalo 5 to 2.

   Lightning now have won two straight on the road.
