BUCCANEERS RB SMITH NAMED NFC SPECIAL TEAMS
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The National Football League today announced that Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Clifton Smith was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 9.

Smith earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors after becoming the second player in franchise history to return a kickoff for a touchdown with his 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, the longest in team history, late in the second quarter. He finished the day with six kickoff returns for 232 yards and two punt returns for 27 yards. His 259 total return yards set a franchise record for the most return yards by an individual in a single game.

This marks the 24th time, including the second this season, that a Buccaneer has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. K Matt Bryant was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 4.
