I'll tell you why. The Florida Gators are without a doubt, playing about as well as any team right now in America, with the exception of Texas Tech. Let me put a disclaimer in right now- I am not a Florida alum, I am not a Gator booster, I have no ties to UF. I'm just an observer that thinks the BCS poll is wrong.
For the record, here is the BCS top five
1. Alabama
2. Texas Tech
3. Texas
4. Florida
5. Oklahoma
Here's is TK's College Football Top Five
1. Texas Tech
2. Alabama
3. Florida
4. Texas
5. Oklahoma
Lets' start at the top - Alabama is #1, but they should be #2. Texas Tech is without a doubt, the #1 team in the country right now. I just hope the RR's hang around until the end to prove it. Alabama is unbeaten, and many say their two quality wins on the road at Georgia and LSU kept them there. First of all, the win over Georgia, as time as indicated, was not as quality as first thought. Second, their OT win at LSU was nice, but EVERYONE thought Alabama would win this one. Only thing that would keep LSU in this game was being at home and intestinal fortitude. Texas Tech beat #1 Texas and then destroyed #9 Oklahoma State back to back at home. You tell me where the quality wins come in regardless of venues.
Now for the Gators. Do you realize that a missed extra point keeps Florida out of being a possible #1. If Florida gets through South Carolina, The Citadel, Florida State and Alabama, it won't matter. They will be #1 or #2 and headed to Miami. But they are the #3 team across the board in the polls outside the BCS. They should be #3on the BCS, not Texas.
The national championship game should be among the five on the list's above. USC has no business being in the picture with the powerpuffs they've played. Sorry Pete Carroll..Love ya, but you know I'm right. It would a total sham for the SEC and Big 12 Conference's to beat each other out of servicing the country with the best possible matchup in Miami. I suggest that the BCS also look into how USC went from .7551 to .7896 with a win over California, at home no less? The score there 17-3.
Perhaps the west coast voters should get a grip and realize USC might not be good enough to beat UTAH! Oh, that hurt. I've said enough. Can't wait for the weekend!
