Florida Gators make case for #3 on BCS poll

At least for another week, the Gators paste another SEC opponent.  And no, I haven't forgotten about that loss to Ole Miss.  They put a half a hundred and change on South Carolina Saturday.  Next week, they might have to put a 100 up on The Citadel.

Now we find out if today's cream job over SC will do the trick; move Florida up to #3. I've already put the Gators in front of the Longhorns.  The B-C-S poll does not agree, but maybe tomorrow.  If I am a Florida fan, I want that three-hole.  You can't count on Alabama being unbeaten and #1 when they meet Florida in December.  It never hurts to jock for position now and hold it.  The Citadel game will not help Florida.  It can hurt them to an extent, leaving the backdoor open for the likes of Oklahoma.

Let's just see what Alabama does tonight, and we'll update our TK's College Top 10 later this evening.

you want Florida over Texas?  Texas played 4 of top 6 teams in four straight weeks and lost by one point on the fourth week on the road, against the team that's now #2.    "the likes of Oklahoma"...nice.

Come on with this Gator glorification!!! Winning by 30+ points in the last quarter,
and Meyer still has most of his starters in the game? Look at the schedule -
Troy State, Citadel, FIU - what a joke!!! Granted all college teams have soft
spots in their schedules, but after the reach a winning margin the second string
takes over. Why risk getting the starters hurt? Looking forward to the Gators and
'Bama, should be a good match up.

BConnelly, you need to learn how to read a schedule.  Neither Troy State nor FIU are on the Gators 2008 schedule.  Their non-conference opponents for 2008 are Hawaii, Miami, Citadel and Florida State.  As for "keeping their starters in the game", you obviously haven't watched their games since John Brantley and the backups have been playing nearly every 4th quarter snap recently.  Maybe you should do a little background research before opening your piehole.

No doubt.  That loss to Old Miss just fired them up even more.  I don't see a chance for anyone else out there.  The Gators are going to take it this year.

The Gators are playing great right now.  Coach Meyer has to keep them focused
and inspired every single week.  Great teams can mess up if they let the hype go to their head.  Remember earlier this year with USC's loss.  Prior to the game, people were taking about how great the Trojans were.
