After the usual sterile pomp and circumstance leading into the big announcment, we have a 2008 Heisman Trophy winner...
For the second year in a row.................a sophomore wins. This year it was Oklahoma's Sam Bradford. Bradford's statistics were uncanny, but many thought he and Texas Quarterback Colt McCoy, put up big numbers against weak Big 12 defenses.
Mc Coy finished second in the voting, Florida's Tim Tebow was third. Tebow actually got the most first place votes. We still say they should have held this voting up until after the BCS Championship game. There we would decide the Heisman winner for 2008.
Instead, Sam Bradford will take his Oklahoma Sooners into the title game against Florida as the Heisman Trophy winner. You thnk the Gator defense isn't already lathering up for this one.
