On a night the Lightning's offense went dormant, and no power in the power play (0-5), salt was added to tonight's inevitable loss to Ottawa.
Lightning Winger Martin St. Louis was cut in the forehead by a lineman's skate late in the game. St. Louis rushed to the bench, and then to the dressing room. It appeared the skate clipped him on a faceoff, but we'll know more tomorrow. Ottawa scored an empty-net goal as St. Louis left the ice. However, the damage was already done as Martin Gerber made 24 saves for his first shutout of the season in Ottawa's 2-0 win over the Lightning.
Alex Picard had the winning goal, Daniel Alfredsson the empty-netter.
