Six years, 27.5-million! Not a bad chunk of change Billy D. An incredible, yet ridiculous amount of money. But then again, these are desperate times for the Orlando Magic. The franchise is crying for a new arena. Their fan base is down. And frankly, after Dwight Howard, their talent pool is limited.

Yet, Billy Donovan is ready to take the plunge into the college coaches graveyard known as the NBA. But $5.5M a year guaranteed cushions the fall. I'm not saying Donovan won't succeed with the Magic. I'm just saying I hope he has a little MERLIN in him.

If it was not for the money the Magic offered, Donovan wouldn't have even considered the move. But Donovan has a built-in upside. He isn't going to New York, and will have the "Micky Mouse" Media in Orlando eating out his hand.
