Yes, the woman was driving fast - but if YOU were notified that a relative had a medical or some other kind of emergency, wouldn't you want to get there as soon as possible?

There must be a balance between enforcing the law and using common sense along compassion for people.

The deputy was hell-bent or arresting this poor woman - he should have written a ticket and let her go.

Law enforcement officers deserve our thanks and respect -- provided they give the respect equally to the citizens they protect.

After watching the dash-cam video, I am even more convinced that the Deputy should have been fired!

He NEVER checked at the hospital to see if this woman's father was there, nor did he asks any of the other officers to do so.

This is an example of a "good old boy" making a half-assed arrest without the full facts.

I do not think the deputy used excessive force at all, he did in fact ask the woman if her father was under doctors care and she said she did not know and she did not know if he was even at that location. Good enough to disbelieve her story for me. Now consider she’s going 30 mph over the limit and then leaves before the officer can properly investigate her background or story.

 

The only reason people are upset is this is one of the rare occasions someone wasn’t lying to get out of a ticket. Thank god, that selfish woman didn’t hit anyone in the parking lot or cause an accident.

It would be nice to live in that Brady Bunch mind-set world you describe... But it's simply not possible. The mind-set of a cop (usually very low intelligence; not me - documented) -- is quite simply put, US against them MENTALITY. My cousin is a cop in Denver. He became one so he can 'arrest' Mexicans. Nice, huh? And all his 'piglet cop buddies!!!' ~ are of the same MINDSET.

But, you know, I spoke with this 'woman abuser' Pig's (he must hate his mother for sure! what if it were YOUR MOTHER) supervisor. The arrogant, 'Sgt. Harrision' with your 'tax-dollars at work' simply went into full blown Pig mode and asked, who is this, who is this, and hung up.... and the arrogance was so seasoned and real, you knew right away, these guy are NOT SORRY, but pissed they got caught.

Hi friends,
I just have a few comments.

1. Obviously he should have checked out her story, especially when she's pulling into the hospital.

2. On the flip side, people do get permanently injured, and even killed by drivers who are going way to fast. Unfortunately, saying after the accident that you were going fast because you needed to see your dad in the ER does not bring back to life anyone that you kill on your way there.

3. A relative in the ER does not constitute an emergency. If it did, then they would send an ambulance for you too. There's a big difference between speeding to the ER to save someone in your car and speeding there to see someone who is already there.

4. I've been on both ends. I've panicked to see relatives in the ER, AND I've also had a young friend hit by a car running a red light because they had to see someone in the ER.

So, they're already *ssholes to begin with!! -- Also, a friend who works in systems with me for a MAJOR piglet station on the west coast said that Cops have more DUI's and domestic issues, per ratio of people samples than ANY OTHER group of people in the country.
