IM sure officer stabins has better things to do than persue libel claims or press charges against some of the hot heads here. of course now and then you just gotta do it for the principal of it all.

I think you should strap on a bullet proof vest, gun and whatever else they wear and try to protect the public.

    Yes, she did run!!!

She was ordered to stop by a LAW ENFORCEMENT  PERSON. She does not have the "right" to decide if he is being insensitive or not.

So when does anarachry begin, when we can decide what laws pretain to us and which do not?

In that case, I'm not a big fan of stop signs, in my mind they are yield signs, so if a cop tries to stop me for that, I will just become famous and have them suspended.  My 15 minutes of fame.

If you don't like stop signs just move to Chicago - no one stops for them. But don't be a bartender. That's where the cops really beat you!!

wonder how much GMA is paying her for "exlusive" story.  I sure do wish i could break several laws at will and not only get a 100% pass on the criminal charges but get paid to ruin another persons life at the same time.

    (cept i wouldnt)

Re: Deputy Suspended for excessive force

I can only hope that my family would be smart enough to know that they are not above the law.  If I am dying from a heart attack, I'm not sure I would care who was there.  After all they have been there all my life and besides the doctors need room to work, or do you suppose we should blame them if I die.

Do you suppose the cop would know that or should I send them a memo?

Re: Deputy Suspended for excessive force

have you seen the ? unedited version of the video where the officers asks the questions about her fathers status and she cant answer them?

GMA and this station edited them out to make it look like the officer was completly unreasonable and show him in the most negative light possible...there is no real story here just an shining example of a biased media on a slow news day

Re: Deputy Suspended for excessive force

I don't see what the big deal is regarding the video. Some feathers were ruffled, some poor judgement was displayed on both sides, and no one was hurt. However, when you first see it, it certainly has shock value. That's why GMA wants it. We're a society of pictures and sound bytes. No one wants to know the details - just show them something exciting.

Re: Deputy Suspended for excessive force

it have less shock value if they showed the unedited tape.. in that version the officer seems in control and reasonable as events unfold escalate

in the edit version hes shown with no compassion or sympanty and you are led to belive he had no cause to arrest the woman

Re: Deputy Suspended for excessive force

I only saw what was on CNN's website which took me over to this website. Haven't seen the unedited version. By the time the press and TV get through airing this tape it will be edited down to a 10 second intro to "Police Abuse in America". It will only show the cop pulling here out of the car with a caption - "And her father was dying". If the guy was having a heart attack he's probably alive today and has already been discharged. Most heart attack victims walk away from the hospital in this day and age.
