If your home value exceeds your current cap value by more than&nbsp; $170,000 the max exemption&nbsp;after the current 25m exemtion your taxes will go up.Is your home worth more today than the tax base????If so you get a huge tax increase and the sky is the limit on future value increases.SAVE OUR ...

    The legislature just want to eliminate the cap. They want to milk the hype home value inflation at the expense of the tax payer. Vote No for sure. only if you are sure your home will never be worth $175,000.00 more than you paid for it can you not get burned by this legislation

    You are right. The elimination of the 3%cap makes this the largest tax increase ever in the state of Florida. VOTE NO! Demand legislatures reinstate the cap of three % or admit they lied to us over the longer term. Every one should remember never to vote for polititians that supported this fiasco.

Every home purchased for under $200,000.00 in the past and worth over $500,000.00 today gets a huge tax increase Example you purchased your home for $200,000.00 and at 2.2 % millage your tax is $4,400 per year.
